In the Page Setup dialog, select 'Selected Text' from the 'Apply to' dropdown. If you want to input the specific measurements for your margins, for example, if you need one-inch margins, follow these steps. Change the Page Margins Using the Page Setup. Click the little arrow in the lower right corner of the Page Setup group. But for more accuracy, use the steps below to change the margins using the Page Setup. Upon selecting the page setup option, a similar window opens up as indicated in method 1. Activate the Page Layout tab of the ribbon. Simply click on Design, then click on Slide Size, and locate the Page Setup option in the dropdown menu that opens up. Once you are satisfied, you can delete the problem document. Another method is by using the Design Ribbon. You will need to enter headers and footers again, but the document should now work as you expect it to. The text from the old document is pasted in the new document.ДЄt this point you should do your work with the new document. (You should have everything in the document selected except the final paragraph marker.) Click the OK button to set the selected margins. As shown below, the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right margins are set to one inch. Select one of the preset margin options or click Custom Margins to specify the margins you want the document to have. Here is one way to try to 'reclaim' your document: More than likely, the document has, in some way, become corrupted. The fact that this is only happening with some documents is an indicator that the problem doesn't lie with Word, but with the documents exhibiting this behavior. Susie reports that sometimes she tries to change the margins on a document, but that she cannot-the preview area in the Page Setup dialog box doesn't display correctly, and any changes to the controls are ineffectual. In such an environment, it is not unusual to reuse someone else's document, or use an existing document as the basis for a new document.
